Calculating IRR:
The calculation of IRR involves finding the discount rate (r) that satisfies the following equation:
NPV = Σ [CFt / (1 + r)t] – Initial Investment = 0
Where:
- CFt is the cash flow in period t
- r is the discount rate (IRR)
- t is the time period
- Σ denotes the sum of cash flows over all periods
