  • Measure the Room: Input the length and width of the room in feet. If your room is L-shaped, divide it into two rectangles and calculate them separately.
  • Accounting for Openings: Enter the number of doors or floor-length windows where the baseboard will not run. A standard interior door is usually 30 to 36 inches wide.
  • The Waste Factor: We recommend at least a 10% waste factor. This accounts for miter cuts, corner errors, and the ends of boards that might be damaged.
  • Cost Estimation: Enter the price per linear foot. Common MDF baseboards cost between $0.80 – $1.50, while solid wood or primed finger-jointed pine can range from $2.00 to $5.00+ per foot.
