- Conversion to Feet: Since gravel is typically sold by the cubic yard, and our initial measurements are in feet and inches, we first need to convert all dimensions to feet. The depth is converted from inches to feet by dividing by 12 (since there are 12 inches in a foot).

- Calculating Cubic Feet: Once all dimensions are in feet, we multiply them together to get the volume in cubic feet.
Volume (cubic feet) = Length (feet) × Width (feet) × Depth (feet)
