Rate of Change = (Y2 – Y1) / (X2 – X1)

- Y2 is the final value of the dependent variable.
- X1 is the initial value of the independent variable (often time).
- X2 is the final value of the independent variable.

Example Calculation:
Let's say you are tracking the growth of a plant. You measured its height at two different times:
- Initial Measurement (X1, which is time in days): 2 days
- Initial Height (Y1): 10 cm
- Final Measurement (X2, which is time in days): 7 days
- Final Height (Y2): 30 cm
Using the calculator:
Rate of Change = (30 cm – 10 cm) / (7 days – 2 days)
Rate of Change = 20 cm / 5 days
Rate of Change = 4 cm per day
This means the plant grew at an average rate of 4 centimeters per day during that period.
