Suppose you want to find the expected inflation rate for the next 10 years:
- Check the current 10-Year Treasury Yield. Let's say it is 4.50%.
- Check the current 10-Year TIPS Yield. Let's say it is 2.10%.
- Subtract the TIPS yield from the Treasury yield: 4.50% – 2.10% = 2.40%.
