Pokemon Team Type Calculator
Pokemon Team Type Calculator Formula:
Team Resistance ($R_{team}$) for a type $T$ is calculated as:
Multipliers(T) = \prod_{i=1}^{n} (Type_1 \times Type_2)_i
Where values $>1$ represent weaknesses and $<1$ represent resistances.

Variables:
- Primary Type: The main elemental affinity of your Pokémon.
- Secondary Type: The optional second affinity (use “None” for mono-types).
- Multipliers: Damage factors ranging from 0.25x (Double Resist) to 4x (Double Weakness).
What is a Pokemon Team Type Calculator?
A Pokemon Team Type Calculator is a specialized tool used by trainers to analyze the cumulative defensive profile of their party. In competitive Pokémon battling, balance is key. If your entire team is weak to Ground-type attacks, a single “Earthquake” could wipe your chances of victory.
Our tool aggregates the type charts of every selected Pokémon, calculating exactly how many members of your team are weak to, resistant to, or immune to each of the 18 elemental types. This allows you to swap members to cover “holes” in your defense.
How to Calculate Team Coverage (Example):
- Select the Primary and Secondary types for your first three Pokémon (e.g., Fire/Flying for Charizard).
- Add up to 6 Pokémon to your roster.
- Click “Calculate Team Coverage”.
- Review the “Weaknesses” section. If more than 2 Pokémon are weak to a specific type, consider adding a resistant partner.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
What is the most important defensive type? Steel and Fairy are generally considered top-tier defensive types due to their numerous resistances and immunities.
Does this calculator account for Abilities? This standard version calculates based on base types. Abilities like “Levitate” or “Sap Sipper” must be factored manually as they nullify specific weaknesses.
What defines a “Balanced” team? A balanced team usually has no more than two members sharing a common weakness without at least two other members providing resistances/immunities to that same type.
How do dual types affect calculation? Multipliers are multiplicative. For example, a Water/Ground type is 4x weak to Grass (2x Water x 2x Ground).
