Calculate Ring Size

Professional Ring Size Calculator

How would you like to measure?

Measure the inner width of a ring that already fits you.

How to Calculate Your Ring Size Accurately

Finding the perfect ring size is essential for comfort and security. A ring that is too loose can easily slip off, while one that is too tight can restrict blood flow and cause discomfort. Our calculator uses international standards to convert your physical measurements (diameter or circumference) into local sizing formats.

Two Ways to Measure Your Finger

  1. Measure an Existing Ring: Find a ring that fits the specific finger you intend to wear the new ring on. Measure the internal diameter in millimeters. Be careful to measure exactly across the center.
  2. The String Method: Wrap a piece of non-stretchy string or a thin strip of paper around the base of your finger. Mark the point where the ends meet. Measure the length of the string against a ruler to get the circumference in millimeters.

Ring Size Conversion Example

If you measure an internal diameter of 17.3 mm, the calculator will process the math as follows:

  • Circumference: 17.3 mm × π (3.14159) ≈ 54.4 mm
  • US Size: Approximately 7
  • UK Size: O
  • EU Size: 54

Expert Tips for Accurate Sizing

  • Temperature Matters: Fingers tend to shrink in the cold and swell in the heat. Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest.
  • Consider the Knuckle: If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between so the ring can slide over the knuckle.
  • Band Width: Wider bands (over 6mm) usually require a slightly larger size (usually half a size up) for a comfortable fit compared to narrow bands.
